Beloved of God - since the world began
The Bible doesn’t take very long to show us God’s love toward the human race. In fact, you can find it within its first few pages. Take time to read Genesis 1 & 2 and you will see what I am talking about. And, if you know someone that you work around or go to school with who does not know the Lord, this is something you may want to share with them – the great love that God has for them! This is derived from a lesson that I taught to 2nd graders, but its message transcends age.
Humans are:
1. Created by God: Genesis 2:7 says, “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Here you have the creation of man by God. Most people are searching for fulfillment and their purpose in life. What better way to find that purpose than through first knowing Who created us.
2. Caretakers for God: We were created by God and then He gave us a purpose. Look at Genesis 1:28 which says, “And God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." God gave Adam and Eve a specific job to do. That means that our Creator has given us a specific job as well. We are to work for God in some way. We need to seek the Lord’s guidance in knowing what that way is.
3. Cherished by God: We are creatures of God, made by Him, workers for Him, and loved by Him. One way that God revealed His love towards Adam is seen in Genesis 2:18 which says, “Then the LORD God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.’” God loves us so much that He sees our need and fulfills it. He made for us other humans to be our companions. This reminds me of the verse in Philippians which says, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.”
May we rest in the facts today that we are created by God, caretakers for God, and cherished by God!
